New Casio radio-controlled solar watches with leather straps launch

Casio has unveiled two new Sheen watches - the SHW-5300CGL-7A and the SHW-5300PGL-7A - in Japan. The brand uses three words to describe its Sheen range: elegant, smart and shining.
The Casio Sheen SHW-5300 analog watches are radio-controlled (Japan and China only) with a fully automatic calendar. The three hands are said to remain accurate to within 15 seconds each month if there is no radio wave reception. Plus, these watches have gunmetal colored indices and a basic date display in the 3 o’clock position.
Casio’s Sheen SHW-5300 has an extended battery life thanks to Tough Solar charging technology, and is water resistant to 10 ATM. Both variants have rose gold ion-plated stainless steel casing, and an anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal. However, while the SHW-5300CGL-7A has a beige tone embossed leather band, the SHW-5300PGL-7A has a black leather strap featuring a similar pattern.
In Japan, the Casio Sheen SHW-5300CGL-7A and SHW-5300PGL-7A watches retail for ¥35,200 (~$224) each. They are currently available to pre-order, with an official launch scheduled for some point in February 2026. It is unclear whether the company plans to bring a version of these watches to other markets like North America or Europe, where it has previously released models like the SHE-4554GYM-8A.
