New Casio G-Shock Mudman watch with compass launching soon

The Casio G-Shock Mudman GW-9502KJ-8 watch is about to be released in Japan. This version of the Master of G-Land model, designed in collaboration with Earthwatch Japan, was unveiled earlier in November 2025.

Now, the G-Shock GW-9502KJ-8 watch is confirmed for its official launch in Japan on November 14th. It has been available to pre-order at the brand’s online store in this country for some time, priced at ¥ 64,900 (~$420). 

The design of the G-Shock GW-9502KJ-8 is inspired by a hippopotamus, with a brown and black design featuring textures to mimic the animal's rough skin. This is a resin watch with the Carbon Core Guard Structure, featuring rose gold buttons, and accompanied by a resin strap. It measures 56.7 x 52.7 x 14.8 mm (~2.2 x 2.1 x 0.6 inches) and weighs 81 g (~2.9 oz).

Features of the GW-9502KJ-8 include a digital compass, an altimeter, a barometer and a thermometer. This is a radio-controlled watch (Multiband 6), with support for 31 world time zones. It can also show the sunrise and sunset times, and offers tools like a stopwatch, a countdown timer and daily alarms. On top of this, the mud-resistant model supports Tough Solar charging, running for around six months on a full charge.

This is the latest addition to the Casio Love the Sea and the Earth collection, with most previous releases only available in Japan. However, the 2019 GW-6903K-7 from this range was also sold in the US and China, so it remains to be seen whether the Casio G-Shock GW-9502KJ-8 watch could be released in other markets. Other older models, such as the GW-9500KJ-3, can be imported via Amazon marketplace (curr. $369 at Amazon US).
