Casio’s next Lunar New Year special edition G-Shock has reportedly surfaced online, with leaked images showing a gold-finished GA-2100 variant titled GBM-2100CX-9A. The watch appears to be themed after the Year of the Horse (2026).
From the leaked visuals (which aren't that clear), the model features a polished gold bezel with engravings that look like flowing mane patterns, as a reference to a horse. The red highlights on the dial and the subtle use of matte black resin for the strap generates a very festive design, which is usually seen in G-Shock's Chinese New Year editions.
According to the text reportedly accompanying the image, the watch will feature Bluetooth connectivity, Tough Solar charging, and smartphone link support, just like in the premium GBM-2100 line. The bezel seems to be gold ion-plated stainless steel, while the case maintains the same slim profile as the GA-B2100/GBM-2100 range.
@geesgshock's description mentions that the case back and box design will include an illustration of the "Thousand-Li Horse," which is a legendary Chinese symbol of endurance and progress. It’s also hinted that the watch will come in limited-edition packaging with red and gold accents, which seems more than likely considering Casio has done this for numerous other collaborations.
While pricing and release dates aren’t confirmed, the GBM-2100CX-9A is expected to land in select Asian markets before the end of 2025, ahead of the Lunar New Year celebrations in early 2026.
