Nanoleaf: New outdoor lighting solution is customizable and comes with Matter support
Nanoleaf is now offering a new, outdoor string lights that are suitable for outdoor use and come with IP65 certification. The power supply, however, is only protected against damage from dust and water according to the IP44 standard. The Matter Smart Multicolor Outdoor String Lights kit comes in lengths of 15, 30 and 45 meters, with the maximum supported length being 45 meters. Expansion kits are also offered. The 15-meter model has 20 LEDs, while the 45-meter model has 60 addressable LEDs.
Network connections to the light chain are possible via WiFi on the 2.4 GHz band and via Bluetooth Low Energy, and control via Matter is also supported. The lights are controlled via the Nanoleaf app, which is available for Android and iOS. Integration into the smart home is possible, so the solution can also be controlled via Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
The individual lamps are said to have a service life of 25,000 hours and can operate at temperatures between -15 °C and 40 °C. The brightness per lamp is given as 55 lumens and the color temperature can be adjusted between 2700 and 6500 Kelvin. The lamps can be dimmed in an intensity range of between 1 and 100%, so the minimum brightness is likely to be 0.55 lumens. The power consumption is specified as 24 watts, apparently at full brightness.
In the US, Nanoleaf is already offering the outdoor string lights at prices starting at just under $130.
