Motorola teases a new smartphone – and already reveals the date

Motorola is apparently preparing to unveil a new premium smartphone. On its official X account, the manufacturer posted a short teaser featuring the slogan “A new perspective is coming” and the date September 22, 2026. However, the company has not yet revealed which product will be presented that day.
The video shows close-ups of various materials and surfaces. These could hint at the design of the upcoming smartphone. That would certainly make sense, as Motorola already opted for linen- and twill-inspired finishes on the Motorola Signature unveiled in January (reviewed here on Notebookcheck).
Same slogan points to the Motorola Signature 27
The teased device is presumably the Motorola Signature 27. The name does not come from a leak. Motorola had previously promoted the device on its regional websites, where it offered users the option to register for more information, as 9to5Google reported. However, the corresponding banners have apparently since disappeared.
The assumption that Motorola could unveil the Signature 27 on September 22 is primarily based on the slogan “A new perspective is coming.” As Android Authority reports, the same slogan was also used on the now-removed registration pages for the new smartphone. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Signature 27 is expected to continue the premium lineup launched in January 2026. The first Motorola Signature (currently around $1.039 on Amazon) launched with a 6.8-inch 165 Hz OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and three 50 MP rear cameras, among other features, at an MSRP of around $1.170 in Europe. Specifications and pricing for the Signature 27 remain unknown.
This time in the US as well?
According to Android Authority, an earlier teaser for the Signature 27 briefly appeared on Motorola's US website, which could point to a US launch. The first Motorola Signature was announced for Europe and other international markets, but not for the US.
