Specs for Motorola's suspected GrapheneOS phone surface in Signature 27 teasers

Motorola has been teasing the Signature 27, the successor to the Signature launched in January 2026, across its US and European sites since early September, with the official reveal now just days away. The latest teasers show a camera ring reading "Dolby Vision, 200MP, 100x Super Zoom, LYTIA." If "LYTIA" refers to the main sensor, the phone likely uses Sony's LYTIA LYT-901, a 1/1.12-inch, 200MP part with 0.7μm pixels and up to 4x in-sensor zoom. The 100x figure, if accurate, would have to come from a separate telephoto module or hybrid/digital zoom rather than the LYT-901 alone, since that sensor's native zoom tops out at 4x. The teasers also show a textured, stitched rear panel in two Pantone colors, Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive, suggesting a fabric or vegan leather back rather than glass. All teasers point to a September 22 reveal tied to the Snapdragon Summit.

Notebookcheck has learned that Motorola is working on a flagship phone internally codenamed "Wukong," built around Qualcomm's next flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. As of now, Wukong is the only Motorola device planned around that chip, and given the timing and chip tier, it is likely the internal codename for the device that will ship publicly as the Signature 27, though this has not been confirmed through a shared model number or regulatory filing.

Separately, GrapheneOS finalized a deal with Motorola to bring the privacy-focused OS to a non-Pixel phone for the first time, and Qualcomm has begun adding MTE support to recent chips, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. If the Motorola Signature 27 turns out to be that launch phone, it would be the first device to combine proper MTE support, a flagship Qualcomm chip, and GrapheneOS support—something not currently available on any Pixel 11 model.

With the Snapdragon Summit only three days away, official confirmation of the chip, camera, and GrapheneOS support should arrive soon. Until then, the standard caveat applies: specifications and even the "Wukong" codename come from internal material and could still change before anything is made official.
