The Minisforum N5 Max is a new network storage device that can also be used as a mini PC and promises high performance in both roles. It supports fast network connections and additional SSDs can also be installed.

Minisforum has two new network storage devices in store for CES 2026, namely the N5 Air and the Minisforum N5 Max. The N5 Max is the more powerful model, which will come with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and an integrated Radeon 8060S. The 199 x 202.4 x 25.3 mm storage system will also double as a conventional PC, supporting Windows and enabling image output via USB Type C and HDMI 2.1.

A PCIe slot with four PCIe 4.0 slots is available, allowing additional network cards to be retrofitted. One Ethernet port with a maximum data transfer rate of 10 and 5 GBit/s is on board for network connectivity. Up to five SSDs or classic magnetic hard drives in 3.5 and 2.5 inch formats can be installed to store large amounts of data. Several SSDs in M.2 2280 format can also be installed at the same time. The N5 Max will provide 128 GB of soldered LPDDR5x RAM and the N5 Air 96 GB.
