Massive Xiaomi 16 series leak highlights all-new Pro Max model and Mi 11 Ultra-esque rear display
The Xiaomi 16 series may not launch in China till September but details of the lineup have already begun to surface over the past few months. The latest set of leaks goes one step further, providing some clarity on the models Xiaomi intends to present in China later this year.
As shared by Kartikey Singh on X, Xiaomi has four premium models prepared to launch in the Xiaomi 16 series. In addition to the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and Xiaomi 16 Ultra, the leaker claims there will be an all-new Xiaomi 16 Pro Max model. Supposedly, the Xiaomi 16 will feature a 6.36-inch display, while the Xiaomi 16 Pro will offer a 6.5-inch screen. Both the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Xiaomi 16 Ultra are tipped to sport 6.8-inch displays.
In a twist, the source claims that the spiritual successor to the Xiaomi 15 will be the Xiaomi 16 Pro, with that phone set to sport a periscope zoom lens and a 6.5-inch display—both of which are specifications originally tipped for the standard Xiaomi 16. The Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, in this case, would then be the actual successor to the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
Additionally, it appears Xiaomi may be set to bring back the rear display. The company launched the Mi 11 Ultra back in 2021 with a rear secondary display but ditched the feature in subsequent releases. Reportedly, that feature could be set to make a return on the Xiaomi 16 series, although it remains unclear which of the four mooted models will come equipped with it.
