The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo is meant to be a business-focused laptop, but it ends up being the MacBook challenger PC laptop enthusiasts have longed for. Not only can it meet and, in many cases, surpass the M2-powered MacBooks, but it is also surpassing the baseline M3 MacBooks, which is a giant leap forward for Intel-powered laptops. This isn’t hyperbole; this is what the numbers show. When you add a stunning, immersive 16-inch 4K OLED display, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage for $1,399, the Prestige will save you a ton of money versus a similar-spec MacBook Air M2, which maxes out at 24GB of RAM and will cost you $2,099 with a 1TB SSD. From document pushing to image and video editing, the MSI Prestige has you covered.

MSI's Prestige 16 AI Evo is a slim and lightweight 16-inch laptop powered by Intel's brand-new Arrow Lake processor, the Core Ultra 9 285H. In addition, its 99-Wh battery ensures extremely good runtimes.
Intel is introducing its new Arrow Lake-H series mobile processors (Core Ultra 200H), covering a power range of 28 to 115 watts. We examine two implementations of the high-end Core Ultra 9 285H. Are the improvements enough to compete with AMD’s Zen 5 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite?
Intel is equipping the new Arrow Lake-H mobile processors with the Arc Graphics 140T and 130T, which are enhanced versions of the Intel Arc Graphics from the Meteor Lake generation. However, the 140T has little in common with the Arc Graphics 140V found in Lunar Lake chips.

Overall, Intel Arrow Lake is the main reason to buy this laptop. Don’t get me wrong, the rest of the laptop has plenty of great points and a few weak points. But overall, Intel Arrow Lake adds a ton of value to the MSI Prestige 16 AI EVO. So I am awarding the Intel Arrow Lake processor my Top Pick Award of 2025 because it makes a mid-laptop way better than it was without it.

Overall, we came away impressed by Arrow Lake-H. The platform offers best-in-class general compute performance, with single-threaded speed second only to Apple's MacBook, where cross-platform benchmarks afforded comparison. In terms of graphics performance, once again Arrow Lake-H looks great competitively, offering what seems to be one of the strongest integrated graphics engines on the market currently for x86 laptops with its integrated Arc 140T GPU tile. Beyond performance, Arrow Lake H's power efficiency is solid. The only real chink in Arrow Lake H's armor may be its meager 13 TOPS NPU, which will come up short competitively, at least in applications that specifically target the NPU.

The Prestige 16 AI Evo (B1MG) in 2023 was an immediate favorite of the Laptop Mag staff. The Arrow Lake-H processor update adds additional performance, gaming potential, and battery life value to an already great package. Ultimately the 2025 version of the Prestige 16 AI Evo (B2HM) is a solid hardware refresh. Unfortunately, it still keeps some of the design flaws of the previous model, as it is built on the same chassis, with the same keyboard, and off-center touchpad. As long as MSI keeps a similar pricing scheme, the Prestige 16 (B2HM) will once again be an incredible value.

I’ve grown quite fond of our MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo review unit during my time with it, and I can easily recommend it to anyone with a couple thousand to spend on a new 16-inch Windows 11 ultraportable. It’s a great device for getting work done on the go thanks to its big screen, light weight and comfy keyboard. While I wish it had an OLED screen option with a little less reflectivity, I can’t quibble with the display quality, as our display testing reveals it averages over 400 nits of brightness and spans both sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts. Personally, I think I’d rather spend that amount of money on a laptop with a discrete GPU so I could enjoy a bit of gaming after my work is done.

Despite being a thin 16-inch device, the MSI Prestige 16 AI Studio B1V offers a lot of power and features. It has a huge battery, capable cooling, a modern port selection, and great input devices. All that is fitted into an elegant and solid magnesium-aluminum body. The overall performance is good while the noise is kept as low as possible. Of course, the 30 mm gaming machines offer more power but most of them are at least 1 kilo heavier. The real-life gaming performance of the Prestige 16 AI Studio is good, despite the modest 55W TGP of the GeForce RTX 4070. The optional 2400p OLED screen (ATNA60YV09-0 (SDC4191)) is suitable for content creation. It sports an infinite contrast ratio, full DCI-P3 coverage, and ~ 400 nits of max brightness in SDR mode. While viewing HDR content, the peak brightness is 619 nits. The MSI Prestige 16 AI Studio B1V is a great choice for wealthy users who are constantly on the go. It boasts powerful hardware, a modern port selection, good battery life, and a superb display.
