Reviews for the MSI GS66 Stealth 10SE-045
The hardware in the GS66 brings all the latest computer games smoothly onto the matte 15.6-inch screen (240 Hz, FHD, IPS). The rest of the equipment is also right: NVMe SSD, 16 GB of RAM (dual-channel mode), and a Thunderbolt 3 port.

Gaming laptops have always been a tremendous growing market, especially in this modern era, and the MSI GS66 Stealth 10SE is one such laptop to join the market. It is a classy gaming laptop with a 240Hz display. In technical terms, it is a slightly watered-down version of the GS66 Stealth 10SFS and also comes with a lower price than the latter. On the other hand, in terms of its hardware, the GS66 brings all the latest computer games smoothly onto the matte 15.6-inch screen with a 240Hz (as mentioned earlier) Full-HD IPS panel. While the display delivers good contrast (1,007:1), the maximum brightness (259 cd/m²) is relatively low, as normally values beyond 300 cd/m² are considered good. In addition, the display flickers at a frequency of 23,580 Hz at brightness levels of 19% and below. However, even sensitive users would not be that troubled by headaches and/or eye problems due to the high frequency. The chiclet keyboard with RGB lighting is definitely suitable for everyday use, improving the overall typing experience.
As far as the processor is concerned, there is a built-in Core i7-10750H hexa-core processor (Comet Lake) that represents a good compromise between performance, power consumption and price. The CPU runs at a base speed of 2.3 GHz. The clock rate can be increased to range between 4.3 GHz (six cores) and 5 GHz (one core) via Turbo. Furthermore, Hyper-Threading (two threads per core) is supported. This MSI laptop provides sufficient computing power for all common application areas due to the powerful hexa-core processor, dual-channel memory, and a fast NVMe SSD, which makes for a quick and smooth system. Apart from that, the high-end GPU brings all modern computer games smoothly onto the screen.
In terms of its graphic cards, the GeForce RTX 2060 graphics core (Turing) supports DirectX 12 and runs at a base speed of 960 MHz. In addition, there is a possible increase of up to 1,200 MHz when boosted, and higher speeds are also feasible if the GPU does not reach a specified temperature and/or energy threshold. Apart from that, it should be noted that the GPU can make use of fast GDDR6 graphics memory. This GPU can handle resolutions beyond Full HD, although an appropriate monitor would have to be plugged in for this.
In terms of its noise emission, the GS66's fans can already turn up considerably in idle usage. At this point, the measured sound pressure levels were up to 40 dB(A). Nevertheless, the fans are indeed quiet from time to time, and then silence prevails. However, the sound pressure levels tend to increase even more under load. Overall, this device is a great gaming laptop to explore, depending on personal choice and preference.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile: Mid range to high end laptop graphics card based on the Turing architecture with raytracing features and 1,920 shaders. Compared to the similar named desktop card it offers reduced clock rates.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

i7-10750H: A high-performance hexa-core processor designed for use in thicker laptops with room for better thermals. The Comet Lake-H processor is manufactured on the third-gen 14 nm Intel process and features a 24 EU UHD Graphics 630 iGPU clocked at 350 MHz to 1,150 MHz. The CPU cores run at 2.6 GHz (base clock speed) Boosting up to 5.0 GHz and the likely all-core Boost frequency is 4.3 GHz. Hyper-Threading is enabled, allowing two threads to run simultaneously on each core.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
79.38%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
