This laptop is popular for good reason. Starting at $1,199 (or less on sale), the Helios 300 delivers a powerful six-core Intel processor and an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU that’s a good match for the laptop’s 1080p 144 Hz display.

In our Acer Predator Helios 300 review, we discussed how this system has decent hardware and good game performance. Everything else, however, feels sorely lacking. From the inexcusable keyboard, to the so-so screen, to the extremely loud fans, the Helios 300 is often a difficult machine to use. Its better configurations are pretty expensive, to boot — if you can navigate the complicated buying process.

Acer's 2020 Predator Helios 300 continues to do what this line has always done well, offering an upscale metal chassis and features in the face of mostly plastic competition. This time around it's better than ever, offering a super-smooth 240Hz display and dominating the gaming performance charts for notebooks we've tested in this class.

Ultimately, the Predator Helios 300 (PH315-53) is something you would want to play on. It is just comfortable. Well… if you don’t mind being cut (literally) by the Acer team design choices. Yep, we are talking about the same sharp edge that is supposed to make direct contact with your wrists.

Acer provides a pretty nice balance of value and performance here at 144Hz, as long as your ok with middling battery life, lower screen quality and a less portable design.

15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.
Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.
74%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
