The Gigabyte MO27Q28G is one of the first monitors to use one of LG Display's Primary Tandem OLED panels. Measuring 27-inches diagonally, the new panel allows the MO27Q28G to output natively at 1440p and 280 Hz with 0.03 ms GtG response times.
Theoretically, this combination is less impressive than the Gen 3 QD-OLED backed Aorus FO27Q3 that Gigabyte also sells (curr. $699.99 on Amazon). However, the MO27Q28G should get up to 34% brighter than the Aorus FO27Q3 in SDR mode thanks to 335 nits peak brightness. Moreover, the former is rated for up to 1,500 nits in HDR mode across small areas compared to 1,000 nits for the Aorus FO27Q3.
On top of that, the MO27Q28G is considerably cheaper than the Aorus FO27Q3. Unfortunately, the monitor is now expected to retail for 10% more than Gigabyte indicated previously. According to TFT Central, it has now received word that the MO27Q28G will retail for $549 but could be offered for $499 at launch. Worse still, tariffs and VAT could impact pricing in certain undisclosed markets. Furthermore, Gigabyte will offer the MO27Q28G on a gradual basis from the end of October onwards.
