Lenovo launches AI NAS with powerful processors and up to 64 GB RAM

Lenovo has introduced a new private-cloud system under its Lecoo Bellator brand, following its announcement on September 8. The Bellator AI NAS 900 series is designed for users who want a compact system for storing and managing their data.

The series comes in two configurations: the AI NAS 900 and the higher-end AI NAS 900 Pro. The standard model uses an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD, while the Pro version comes with a Core Ultra X9 388H, 64 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. Both models use onboard LPDDR5/LPDDR5X memory rather than user-replaceable DIMMs.

Both processors belong to Intel's Panther Lake family. They offer AI performance of more than 100 TOPS on the AI NAS 900 and more than 180 TOPS on the AI NAS 900 Pro, according to Lenovo.

There are four independent M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots, with support for RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 5. ZFS users can also use RAID Z1 and RAID Z2. The listed maximum total storage capacity is 4 TB.

The storage setup differs from the Minisforum N5 Pro (available on Amazon), which we reviewed last year. The N5 Pro has five SATA drive bays and three M.2/U.2 connections, giving it more options for combining hard drives and SSDs. It also offers 10GbE and 5GbE networking, while Lenovo provides dual 2.5GbE ports with link aggregation for up to 5Gbps.

The Lenovo NAS also supports network isolation, allowing internal and external networks to be separated. It also has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity.

On the front, you'll find two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with 10 Gbps speeds, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The rear adds four USB Type-A ports, two 2.5GbE Ethernet ports, HDMI 1.4b and DisplayPort 1.4a.

It runs Feiniu fnOS and also comes with Windows drivers. Lenovo lists support for local AI features and Docker, while the system can also be used for file storage, media, office tasks and smart-home control.

The chassis measures 159 x 55 x 146.3 mm (6.3 x 2.2 x 5.8 inches) and weighs about 0.82 kg (1.8 lb), according to the product listing.

Pricing and availability

The Lecoo Bellator AI NAS 900 starts at 6,999 yuan (about $1,043), while the AI NAS 900 Pro costs 17,999 yuan (about $2,682). Both models are currently available for pre-order in China and are scheduled to go on sale on September 15. No information on international pricing or availability has been provided so far.
