Lenovo announces a November 2021 launch event for the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 and maybe more
Lenovo has been teasing the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 for some time, confirming that it will have a high-end E4 AMOLED display with appreciable brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Now, the OEM has teased this slate prior to its launch yet again, affirming that its display will support pen input as well.
The stylus in question has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, comes with a 44% boost in response speed compared to its predecessor and clips magnetically onto the back of the Pad Pro 12.6 in order to charge. Lenovo China's consumer marketing director, Song Yuezhu, has also reportedly released a snap of a presentation rehearsal in which other important specs of the device may be revealed.
They include a 10,200mAh battery that can charge with either the tablet's standard Qualcomm QuickCharge (QC) 4.0 30W power brick, or with any other 45W charger of the same standard. In other words, all these new details may drive home the conclusion that the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 is the Chinese-market rebrand for another Lenovo tablet already on the international market.
Should this be the case, Lenovo's audience in that country should get a premium Android tablet with the Snapdragon 870 processor, and maybe even that stylus in the box. It is also now slated to introduce a new OS called ZUI 13 for Pad, ostensibly a version of the OEM's Android skin optimized for its form factor.
Finally, Song has also hinted that additional devices will debut alongside the Pad Pro. They are to be of a different series: Yoga, which may imply scope for the appearance of the well-hyped 16s 2022, as well as a Pro Carbon edition of the 14s. These possibilities will be fulfilled or denied on November 2, 2021.
