Lenovo has unleashed the Tab P12 Pro for international markets; now, it seems the OEM will rebrand the new slate under the Xiaoxin brand for the Chinese market. This is the picture painted by the latest official teaser for this upcoming device, which seeks to build hype through further potentially fortuitous display-related selling points.
It elaborates on the upcoming Xiaoxin Pad Pro's 12.6-inch 2.5K, HDR10+ and 120Hz panel by confirming that it will be OLED with a maximum brightness of 600 nits: same as the Tab P12 Pro. Then again, in this case, Lenovo specifies that this "new" tablet will be E4 AMOLED and will cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, whereas its possible global counterpart has been introduced as having 107% of the NTSC color-space instead with no mention of the E4 spec.
Nevertheless, the Pad Pro 12.6 is reportedly linked to the Snapdragon 870 SoC found in the P12 Pro, not to mention the same cameras, battery and charging tech. However, the existing tablet runs on stock Android 11, whereas it seems the Chinese-market prospect will get the latest version of Lenovo's custom OS skin, ZUI 13.
All this new detail notwithstanding, Xiaoxin has yet to mention a launch date for its Pad Pro 12.6. As it does indicate the new potential flagship tablet is to be a school-season pitch, it has a good chance of doing so sooner rather than later.
