The Lenovo ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 succeeds the ThinkPad X1 Extreme as a premium 16-inch performance laptop. It features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop graphics, 64 GB of LPDDR5x memory, and a 2 TB SSD. Its 3200 x 2000 matte tandem OLED touch display offers HDR, 120 Hz refresh, and Adaptive Sync support. Reviews highlight the device as a capable prosumer machine for creative workloads, 3D applications, video editing, and gaming. Notebookcheck rated it highly at 92.4%, while PC World gave it 70% and emphasized its strong competition. With prices around 4,300 to 4,500 euros, the ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 is powerful and well equipped but faces value pressure from rivals such as the Asus ProArt P16, Dell XPS 16, Alienware Aurora 16, and Razer Blade 16.

Reviews for the Lenovo ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 21TD003GE
Lenovo's ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 steps in as the successor to the much-loved ThinkPad X1 Extreme, delivering a highly capable multimedia laptop with powerful hardware, a matte tandem OLED touch display and what may well be the finest keyboard Lenovo has ever put into a ThinkPad. Update: SD-Express tested

Don’t let the Lenovo ThinkPad T1g’s branding fool you. This is not a business laptop, and while it works as a portable workstation, it’s not that either. The ThinkPad T1g is best understood as a prosumer machine for people who need one laptop that can handle both demanding work applications, like video editing or 3D modeling software, and demanding entertainment like PC games. The T1g’s only real downside is not a trait of the laptop itself. It’s the competition. Asus’ ProArt P16 gets my nod over the T1g, as it can be had with similar hardware at a similar price and offers better overall GPU performance. The Dell XPS 16, Alienware Aurora 16, and Razer Blade 16 are also competitive on value. So, why choose the ThinkPad T1g?
