Deal | Lenovo Legion Slim 5 gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 and Nvidia RTX 4060 returns to its record low price

Lenovo has already updated the 16-inch AMD Legion Slim 5 with the latest Hawk Point processors, but the newer CPUs only offer a boost in neural processing. That means last year’s model with the Phoenix APUs is still a good purchase, especially with discounts.

Speaking of which, the mid-tier 2023 Lenovo Slim 5 gaming laptop has returned to its record low price. It’s currently available for $899.99 at Best Buy, which translates to a handsome $450 discount from its current regular price tag of $1,349.99.

The configuration that’s on sale features the AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS processor, which boasts 6 cores and 12 threads. This CPU is paired with the Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, making the gaming laptop capable of offering good frames in most games at high to ultra graphics settings.

While we didn’t review the exact configuration of this gaming laptop, the RTX 4060 in the Legion Slim 5 that we tested performed well in benchmarks. As for the cooling setup, we noticed that it can keep the system relatively cool when gaming. So, you can expect to get a comfortable experience during prolonged sessions.

On that note, the battery life of the gaming laptop is also pretty respectable. In our WiFi web surfing test, the top-tier 2023 Legion Slim 5 lasted for 7 hours and 5 minutes. We also found the display to be reasonably good for the price. It features a 144 Hz refresh rate, 300 nits of brightness rating, FreeSync, and G-Sync.

But if you prioritize color accuracy, you may need to rely on an external monitor as the panel can only offer 60% of sRGB coverage. Other highlights include 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB PCIe 4 SSD, a sleek chassis, a good keyboard, and a comfortably sized touchpad.
