Deal | Microsoft Surface Pro 9 price drops back to 120-day low following massive 35% cut for Core i5-1235U SKU with 16 GB of RAM
The Intel Alder Lake-based Surface Pro 9 is enjoying a massive discount of 35% at Best Buy resulting in the final price of $999.99. The discounted configuration features a 10-core Core i5-1235U (2 P-cores + 8 E-cores), 16 GB of DDR5 memory, and 256 GB of storage. The convertible laptop also comes bundled with a keyboard which normally is sold separately (via slickdeals).
Although the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 is rumored to be getting replaced with the ARM-based Surface Pro 10 in June, the 2-in-1 device is still an excellent machine with a “very good” rating of 88% per our review. From the build quality of the tablet to the display, the Surface Pro 9 nails almost all the basics.
For instance, our measurements show that the Surface Pro 9’s QHD+ touch display is quite good with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 97.7% coverage of the sRGB gamut, an average brightness of 453 nits, and a decent contrast ratio of 1197:1. So, the display is well suited for media consumption.
Moving on to performance, the Core i5-1235U available on the model on offer is a sufficiently powerful mid-range chip. The CPU boasts an average single-core Cinebench R23 result of 1,588 with the multi-core result landing at 6,225 per our database. This puts the Core i5-1235U on par with the Apple M2 in single-threaded and ahead of the Ryzen 5 4500U in multi-threaded workloads.
All in all, the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 is a stellar convertible laptop that is now a much easier buy thanks to the sizeable discount.
