Deal | Samsung EVO Select MicroSD card 512 GB variant gets attractive price cut
With the ever-growing selection of gaming handhelds combined with ballooning game sizes, a MicroSD card is a quick and cheap way to add more storage to your console. You can throw less demanding titles on there, leaving the heavy hitters for the on-board SSD. Samsung's EVO Select MicroSD card has dropped to an attractively low price
.You can buy its 512 GB variant for just $25 on Amazon and Samsung's official website. CamelCamelCamel's price tracker confirms this is the lowest the MicroSD card has sold for, although its price has hovered around the $40 mark for quite some time now. Nevertheless, that's a lot of storage for a relatively low price, especially in an era of rising SSD prices.
Samsung's website claims the EVO Select MicroSD card can hit read/write speeds of up to 130 MB/s. Realistically, it hovers around the 90-95 MB/s mark, putting it well above the minimum required for the U3 spec set by the SD Association. Refer to the attached image for more information about how SD cards are rated. That said, its video speed class is just V30 (30 MB/s), meaning you're better off with higher-speed alternatives for your video recording requirements.
