Deal | Select Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 notebooks on sale up to $500 off MSRP at Amazon during tax prep season
Amazon has discounted the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 up to $500 off MSRP during the tax preparation season. While not the biggest discount of the year (you'll need to wait until Black Friday), this is a good opportunity to use your 2023 tax refund.
The convertable Surface Laptop Studio 2 uses a swivel mount located midway behind the pull-forward screen to enable switching between laptop and tablet modes. The touchscreen is compatible with a Surface Slim 2 pen to allow for multi-touch and written input. The flexibility of the SLS 2 lets it handle everything from gaming to office work to anime illustration.
Unlike the slower 2021 Surface Laptop Studio that used a 4-core CPU, the SLS2 uses a fast 14-core CPU, so performance is competitive with alternative mid-range laptops. The 14.4” screen has a screen resolution of 2400 x 1600 pixels and a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports allow for connection to super-wide gaming monitors and future eGPU expansion by using a faster GPU inside an external enclosure.
Although there are lightweight gaming notebooks like the Asus G14, none of the latest competitors can switch into tablet mode for illustration, animation, and notetaking. Couple the touchscreen with the free Windows subsystem for Android and you can turn the SLS 2 into a large 14.4” Android tablet, too.
So put that tax return to use today with a nice, all-in-one Surface Laptop Studio 2 laptop:
- The basic SLS 2 is currently $372 off $2,399.99 MSRP
(i7-13700H CPU, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU) - The top SLS 2 is currently $500 off $3,699.99 MSRP
(i7-13700H CPU, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD, and NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU)
