Traditionally, Apple's first launch has always taken place in March or April. This year, a number of new Apple products are expected to be released, but without a launch event. Instead, website updates, online videos and marketing campaigns will suffice in promoting the many new products that are slated to be launched in the coming weeks, writes Bloomberg analyst in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, revising his earlier assessment of a major launch event in the spring.
Nevertheless, the new products should be exciting, especially for iPad fans. If Gurman's information is correct, Apple will present a major iPad Pro upgrade in the next few weeks for the first time in almost six years, namely the first iPad Pro generation with OLED displays. Gurman also expects a new "mid-range iPad", which is likely to be the rumored iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display, also a novelty.
On the Mac side of things, the release of 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air notebooks with the Apple M3 is imminent, while a new Apple Pencil and a Magic Keyboard for the new iPad Pro models are also likely planned. According to Bloomberg, all these products are already in production and will be supported by the iOS 17.4 update at the end of March. This suggests that Apple will officially announce the new products in March or April 2024 at the latest.
Update 22:00 Launch as early as this week
According to information from Macrumors' sources, which have proven to be correct in the past, new Apple products will be unveiled this week. In addition to those already mentioned by Gurman, there could be new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus colors, a new Apple TV or a new HomePod with a display, although the development status of the latter is unclear.
