Reviews for the Lenovo LOQ 15APH8
If an IdeaPad sounds too cheap and the Legion sounds too expensive, then the LOQ might tickle your fancy. The GeForce RTX 4050 is proving to be very capable for users who are satisfied with a solid 1080p gaming experience at 60 FPS.

The Lenovo LOQ 15 (AMD) offers solid gaming performance, especially with more competitive (and less graphics-demanding) titles while staying cool under pressure. It is a bit on the heavy side and the port placement can be awkward for anyone who moves their laptop regularly. But, considering the price, this is a very good option for new or budget-minded gamers.

Now, since the Lenovo allows for highly flexible configurability when it comes to buying a laptop, note that what we said is not entirely representative of LOQ 15 as a whole, but rather, on this very laptop with its own configuration (we’ll note if otherwise). The platform itself, that is to say things like keyboard, speakers, I/O, cooling (applies to all LOQ 15 models) – they’re what you’d expect from a budget-centric model. Decent keyboards, solid I/O, and speakers being not-so-great. Cooling-wise, it’s also pretty good all things considered, since a CPU at full tilt generating 90W of power is difficult for even the top-of-the-line laptops to pull it off; while thermals are reasonably well controlled, and the fans do not produce any distracting whines. For this particular laptop, the hardware configuration comes unbalanced.

Even after a short time with the LOQ 15, you'll find it has a lot going for it, but ultimately it's just "good"—not quite a star. The performance is respectable for the hardware it’s running, but Lenovo had to make some design sacrifices to trim the price. One of the better aspects is the keyboard, making it one of the better low-cost gaming laptops to actually put your hands on. If budget allows, the pricier Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 is a considerable improvement on the LOQ, while the Gigabyte Aorus 15 BMF remains our top pick for budget gaming laptops. Even so, the Lenovo LOQ 15 still has a place as a low-cost, high-utility gaming laptop, especially if (or when) you can find it marked down.

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

78.74%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
