The Acer Nitro V 15 attempts to balance budget and performance but falls flat by compromising on display quality, gaming performance, and storage options, making it difficult to recommend this particular model. While the Nitro V 15 offers solid battery life for a gaming laptop and decent overall performance, it’s not enough to outweigh the measly 512GB of storage in all but one configuration or the subpar graphics performance compared to similarly priced gaming laptops. Even if you are a gamer on a tight budget, you should not compromise in these critical areas, especially when there are affordable alternatives, like the Dell G16, that offer much better value for your money.

With the Nitro V, Acer is offering a good-budget gaming laptop that delivers where it matters most: game performance. It runs most modern titles at over 60 FPS at 1080p, though you’ll need to turn image quality down a little in the most demanding titles like Fortnite and Cyberpunk 2077. The Intel Core i7-13620H processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and RTX 4050 GPU are impressive, but the battery is mediocre, the same is true for most sub-$1000 laptops, however. The areas where the laptop does falter are easier to deal with than some alternatives, like the thin sound you can get a pair of better-sounding headphones. It’s not terrible, but it’s not particularly great either. For around the same price, the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 looks like fantastic value overall, but if you’re on a tight budget, the Acer Nitro V ANV15-51-73B9 will save you some money.

The Acer Nitro V 15 doesn't have many standout features or much going on in terms of general performance. The underpowered hardware is fine for gaming because of Nvidia's DLSS, but you won't have much luck if you're planning to use rendering software. This doesn't matter as the available color space is much too poor anyway. The laptop even stutters when surfing the web unless you're in performance mode, which is so loud that it's not worth using. There are other budget gaming laptops at a similar price point that don't have this many caveats. The Lenovo LOQ 15 is a budget pick with great 1080p gaming performance and quiet fans. The MSI Cyborg 15 is another budget pick worth your money, and so is the slightly more expensive Dell G15, which has its own issues but still delivers a solid gaming experience. If you're considering the Acer Nitro V 15, please don't. Any of these picks above will give you more value.

15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

71.5%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
