Leaked images of GPD Win Max console internals confirm AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor
A report by Liliputing has included some supposed leaked images of the inside of an upcoming Win Max handheld gaming PC from GPD. We recently reported on the news that the company was preparing to release a new mini computer, and at the time it was known as the Win 2 Max. However, it now seems GPD has decided to drop the “2” to avoid confusing the new product with the existing Win 2 mini PC.
So apart from being a potential series in its own right, the GPD Win Max handheld will come with an embedded APU from AMD’s Ryzen V1000 lineup. It has been speculated the V1605B could be the most likely candidate, which would mean four cores/eight threads of processing ability, clock rates of 2 GHz to 3.6 GHz and an integrated Vega 8 GPU. The TDP for the Ryzen V1605B is 12-25 W, so there will be plenty of power for the diminutive Win Max handheld gaming PC.
The same source has listed various other observations thanks to the leaked images, including SSD storage compatibility (M.2 PCIe slot), HDMI port, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, a microSD card reader and a Wi-Fi card from Intel. Another leaked image of the GPD Win Max shows its purported rear side, where it’s possible to see some of the numerous ports and a set of shoulder buttons similar to those found on many console controllers.
