Leak: Huawei FreeBuds Neo launching soon for €129 with LDAC, ANC, and 10h battery life
At its launch event on September 2, Huawei is expected to unveil not only the Huawei Watch 6, the Huawei Watch GT 7, and the Huawei Watch D3, but also the FreeBuds Neo. Winfuture has already published high-resolution images and details about the features of the manufacturer’s latest earbuds.
According to the report, Huawei has opted for a case that is significantly more rounded and slightly more compact compared to the FreeBuds Pro 5. The earbuds thus resemble Apple AirPods Pro ($199 on Amazon) more than older Huawei FreeBuds. The completely wireless earbuds are expected to offer a relatively attractive price-to-performance ratio, as the FreeBuds Neo are reportedly set to launch in Europe for €129 ($149).
For this price, buyers get earbuds with silicone ear tips and dynamic drivers measuring 11 millimeters in diameter, capable of reproducing frequencies from 20 Hz to 40 kHz. The earbuds connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth 6.0 and support SBC and AAC as well as Sony’s Hi-Fi codec LDAC. Active noise cancellation (ANC) is included as standard, as is a special chip designed to improve voice quality using AI algorithms.
The earbuds reportedly offer a battery life of up to 10 hours without noise cancellation, or 6.5 hours with ANC. When used with the charging case, they are said to provide 40 and 24 hours of battery life, respectively. The earbuds’ housing is IP55-certified, meaning they are protected against sweat and rain.
