Latest OnePlus 15 leak hints at configurations, exact battery size, and more

OnePlus itself has been teasing some of the specifications for its upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship, the OnePlus 15. That hasn’t stopped leaks from flowing in, hinting at even more details about the phone. The latest information comes from a prolific leaker and it mentions the different RAM and storage options, the massive battery capacity, and colorways.

Digital Chat Station has shared on Weibo that the OnePlus 15 will be offered in five configurations: 12 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 512 GB, 16 GB + 256 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB, and 16 GB + 1 TB. It is possible that some of these configurations don’t make it to global markets as the 1 TB variant of the OnePlus 13 (buy on Amazon) was exclusive to China. There was also a 24 GB RAM model of the OnePlus 13 but the leaker has not mentioned the same for the OnePlus 15.

The Weibo post also mentions the battery capacity, which has long been rumored to be over 7,000 mAh. The phone is said to carry a 7,800 mAh battery that supports 120 W fast charging. This is a 30% larger battery than the OnePlus 13 which already showed excellent run times in our practical battery tests. Notably, back in May, the same leaker had mentioned that a Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship with a 7,800 mAh battery was in development, but it was unclear what phone it was going to be.

Digital Chat Station has reiterated in the latest post some information about the weight and the colors. The OnePlus 15 is said to come in black, Quick Silver, and Flash White color variants that weigh 214 grams, only a gram heavier than the predecessor, despite the much larger battery. Previously, he claimed that the Sand Dune variant will weigh 211 grams while the black and purple colorways will weigh 215 grams. At the time, he also mentioned there will not be a white variant. It could be that some of the colors are kept exclusive to China.

As for what’s already confirmed, OnePlus 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Soc, have a 165 Hz refresh rate display, and a Sand Dune colorway. OnePlus will also be using its own imaging engine this time as it has ended its partnership with Hasselblad. There is no official release date yet but one of the teaser images shared by the company showed October 27 on the phone’s lockscreen, which is suspected to be the date of the reveal in China.
