Deal | Last year's Lenovo Yoga C930 convertible flagship with Core i7 CPU, 12 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD is now just $900 USD
It looks like Lenovo is clearing stock of its last generation Yoga C930 2-in-1. If you have no use for the improved GPU potential of the Intel 10th gen Ice Lake series, then the 8th gen Kaby Lake-R series will be just fine.
You don't have to buy the absolute latest and greatest for a satisfactory PC experience. Just like all those yearly smartphone refreshes, even last generation laptop models will be more than enough to most users especially if they're upgrading from much older models.
The deal today involves the 13.9-inch Lenovo Yoga C930 2-in-1 being sold directly from Lenovo for a price of $899 USD. This particular model has since been superceded by the newer 14-inch Yoga C940 2-in-1, but as we've already noted in our review of the Yoga C940, the differences between the two generations are moderate at best. The biggest changes involve the move from a Kaby Lake-R Core i7 CPU to an Ice Lake Core i7 CPU for greater GPU performance and a brighter display from ~290 nits to ~360 nits. Chassis size is also a bit smaller on the newer model. When configuring everything else to be the same, however, the Yoga C940 retails for $1500 compared to just $900 for the Yoga C930. The small advantages likely won't be worth the huge price difference for many.
The Yoga C940 was on sale a few weeks ago as well albeit still for a much higher price of $1300 USD.

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
