Those who own LG smartphones may be familiar with the OEM's mobile development site, the source of such tools as bootloader unlocking keys. Now, the company has advised these users that they have until the end of December 2021 to grab whatever they need from it before it is "terminated".

LG's exit from the smartphone market has led to a slow yet inevitable erosion of software support for its remaining devices, even more interesting units such as the Wing. Now, this process has taken another step with the announcement that the OEM will close its Mobile Developer website.

Many users, including those who wanted their bootloader-unlocking tools from an official source, might often resort to this site. Now, they may need to do so simply to keep updates coming to their phones from this brand in some way via custom ROMs or other development (however little there might be in some cases).

LG has stated that it will suspend the development service, availability of unlock keys included, at the end of this month. Therefore, users now have only until December 31, 2021 to connect to the site before it, along with the rest of LG's role in the Android world, disappears forever.
