LG updates the Q92 5G to Android 11
LG may have cut many of its Android smartphones adrift through its decision to exit the market for these devices; however, it has stated that it will provide support for some of its existing premium and mid-range devices, software updates included.
Now, the Q-series' flagship - its final flagship, as it transpires - now finally has an update to the new LG UX based on Android 11. The Q92 had been slated to see this OTA in the second quarter of 2021 (2Q2021), and as it has been announced on June 28 of this year, LG could be said to have just made it in terms of this schedule.
Android 11 for the Q92 includes some new features such as a new QR scanner for its native camera app, as well as new notification styles. The upgrade also contains typically Android 11-derived features such as the new permission management system and chat bubbles.
Then again, this new UI only seems to be available to users in South Korea thus far. In addition, now that the promised update for this phone now exists, the availability of further OTAs for the Q92 is uncertain at this time.
