Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro action cameras leak in various official and hands-on photos
More information about Insta360's next action camera has surfaced online ahead of the company's next launch event. To recap, Insta360 released a short promotional video over the weekend, which coincided with leakers like @Quadro_News discovering details about the company's next action camera in certification documents.
Now, @Quadro_News has shared numerous official renders images on Twitter, embedded below. Additionally, the same leaker has published two hands-on photos, supposedly of a review unit. Given that retail packaging can also be seen in the same shots, we suspect that the camera is a retail unit rather than an early review sample. Thus, we imagine that Insta360 will begin shipping its GoPro Hero 12 Black (curr. US$349 on Amazon) and DJI Osmo Pocket 3 rivals shortly after tomorrow's launch.
Based on the images below, Insta360 has created two cameras, the Ace and the more expensive Ace Pro. Seemingly, while the latter has a 1/1.3-inch sensor, the former will make do with a different sensor that has a smaller 1/2-inch optical format. Moreover, Insta360 will limit the Ace to recording videos in up to 6K/30 FPS, the Ace Pro will be capable of capturing footage at 8K/24 FPS.
Furthermore, the Ace Pro's sensor will provide an f/2.6 aperture and a 16 mm equivalent focal length thanks to its Leica Super-Summarit lens. Separately, the camera will offer 10 metres of water resistance, a flip-up viewfinder display and the GPS Preview Remote. According to @Quadro_News, the latter can be used as a secondary display thanks to its real-time image processing, as well as a wrist or bike-mounted GPS tracker. Although pricing has not surfaced yet, Insta360 will present the Ace and Ace Pro in less than 24 hours time at 13:30 UTC.
