Zoom Clips may eliminate pointless emails and meetings
Zoom has formally announced the release of Zoom Clips, a new feature that allows users to record, edit, and share videos to support asynchronous work. Dubbed the "voice note of the web meeting world," the tool seeks to replace real-time video interactions and do away with the need for pointless meetings.
Zoom Clips is now accessible everywhere after going into public beta in August. It meets the needs of time-pressed professionals who must work together on asynchronous projects, especially when scheduled conflicts make in-person meetings impossible.
A recent addition to Zoom's already large collection of asynchronous communication tools, Zoom Clips now complements Zoom Meetings' continuous meeting chat, Zoom Scheduler, Zoom Email, Zoom Whiteboard, and Zoom Team Chat's voice, video, and reminder features. Zoom Clips make it simple for colleagues to update projects during daily standups, present training in an approachable manner, and enhance new hire manuals for a more seamless onboarding process. Teams can respond to Clips with emojis or by making comments. Zoom Clips enables users to manage content in a centralised system, record and share videos and screens, and assign viewing permissions. Viewers of the creators' videos can be tracked, and team members can post comments.
With Zoom Clips, asynchronous work has advanced significantly, facilitating seamless communication and cooperation across time zones and scheduling conflicts.
