INTELLI has waded into the ever-growing MagSafe (or MagSafe-alike) accessory market with the StepUp Magnetic Wireless Charging Station. This new product looks like a fairly standard wireless stand for newer iPhones with Apple's latest inductive power tech, albeit one in a perhaps larger than normal form-factor cut off at the top at an angle for the main black and shiny charging pad.
However, its height is explained by the fact that it also contains additional, smaller pads within its main body. They are designed to pop out at need, revealing that they are purpose-made to accommodate an Apple Watch and a case for AirPods.
It is easy to tell which is which, as one is flat, whereas one is more like a wearable-holder. Therefore, a user can both charge and store their various Apple devices on the same StepUp Station. The main MagSafe-compatible pad is rated to charge an iPhone at up to 15 watts (W), whereas the 'AirPods' plate may do so at up to 5W, with up to 2.5W power delivery for the Apple Watch pop-out charger.
All in all, INTELLI's latest product might make a novel prospect for users deep in the Apple ecosystem (or with someone else in their life who is), even if the extra extendable charging 'arms' might make more potential points of failure. It is available on the OEM's own site for £54 (or US$70), or on its Amazon.com listing at a price of $70, with availability on Amazon.co.uk to follow.
