Amazon starts selling the Smart Air Quality Monitor globally; some orders will not ship until early January
Last month, Amazon announced the Smart Air Quality Monitor, a 65 x 65 x 45 mm device that performs a variety of tasks. As we discussed in November, the Smart Air Quality Monitor monitors carbon monoxide levels, dust and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and informs you when any of these reach unsafe levels.
Amazon has not equipped the Smart Air Quality Monitor with a built-in speaker. Hence, you must have the Amazon Alexa app installed on your smartphone to receive notifications. Alternatively, you can connect the Smart Air Quality Monitor to an Amazon Echo device for it to relay warnings where necessary.
Currently, the Smart Air Quality Monitor is orderable in multiple markets, such as the Eurozone, the UK and the US. For reference, the device retails for €79.99 in the Eurozone, £69.99 in the UK and US$69.99 in the US.
Initially, Amazon stated that the Smart Air Quality Monitor would begin shipping in December. However, this is only true in the UK. By contrast, Amazon Germany will not have stock of the device until January 1, 2022, although you can order one now. Similarly, Amazon US allow you to order one, but it may not arrive until mid-January.
