Two Apple iPhone SE models tipped to arrive a year apart, starting in 2022

Ming-Chi Kuo has delivered another investor note seen by MacRumors in which he discusses the prospect of more iPhone SE refreshes. According to MacRumors, Kuo expects Apple to release a new iPhone SE during the first half of 2022. Incidentally, this release window fits with the ones put forward by Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) and Trendforce.

Likewise, Kuo believes that the next iPhone SE will have 3 GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch display. Effectively, the iPhone SE 2022 will resemble the current iPhone SE, released in 2020. For reference, Trendforce forecasts that Apple will produce 25-30 million units to meet worldwide demand for the iPhone SE 2022.

Kuo adds that a larger iPhone SE will debut in 2023, also with 4 GB of RAM. On the face of it, this reports clashes with Young's. As we discussed in October, Young claims that Apple will release this larger iPhone SE in 2024, not 2023. However, Young stated that Apple had pushed this larger iPhone SE to 2024 from 2023, albeit without giving a reason why this could be the case.

Hence, it could be possible that Kuo is relying on older information that he will later correct. Both leakers have good reputations to date, though. Either way, Kuo's latest investor note underlines that two more iPhone SE models are on the horizon, even if Apple plans to re-use old parts again.
