The 75-in Hisense U80H Mini-LED ULED 8K TV has been launched in South Africa. The device has 33 million pixels and up to 1,000 nits brightness. With a 120 Hz native refresh rate and MEMC, the TV can produce smooth fast-moving images. The gadget has 8K AI Upscaler technology, which uses an algorithm to review and optimize each shot rather than doubling the pixels. The TV also uses the Hi-View Engine Pro chip and supports Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+.
The U80H TV is compatible with DTS:X and Dolby Atmos technologies, and you can connect speakers via Bluetooth or HDMI eARC. Gaming features of the device, available in Game Mode PRO, include ALLM, VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. You can connect consoles or other gadgets to the TV via a range of ports such as HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0 or USB 3.0.
The Hisense device uses the Android TV OS, allowing you to stream content from many popular streaming services or cast content from a smartphone via Chromecast. You can also control the TV, or other linked smart home gadgets, using Google Assistant voice commands. The 75-in Hisense U80H Mini-LED ULED 8K TV will shortly be available from Hirsch's in South Africa. The gadget's price is currently unclear; for content, the Hisense 75-in U8G 8K TV cost R53,199.99 (~US$3,158) when it launched in late 2021.
