Sharp NEC PV800UL laser projector with 8,000 ANSI lumens brightness announced
The Sharp NEC PV800UL laser projector has been announced and will be demonstrated at ISE 2023 from January 31. The device has up to 8,000 ANSI lumens brightness from a laser light source, with 3LCD technology and an expected lifetime of 20,000 hours. The gadget throws images with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio and 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. You can use the projector to create images from 40 to 500-in (~102 to 1,270 cm) wide, from a distance of 0.7 to 50.9 m (~2.3 to 167 ft).
The PV800UL is compatible with many lenses, including the previous generation PA Series mechanical lenses and newer PV laser versions. ProAssist support makes the projector easier to control and adjust to create your optimal set-up, and you can connect to the gadget via HDBaseT, HDMI and USB-A ports. Plus, the device has a low noise level, producing just 33 dB when running.
The compact device measures 407 x 499 x 164 mm (~16.0 x 19.6 x 6.5-in), without lens and feet, and weighs 11.2 kg (~24.7 lbs). Sharp/NEC suggests that the gadget would be helpful in education, leisure and hospitality environments. The Sharp NEC PV800UL laser projector will be available in March 2023. It is unclear how much the device will cost.
