Reviews for the HP ZBook Power 16 G11, RTX 3000 Ada

80% The HP ZBook Power G11 is a behemoth with plenty to offer
Source: It Pro English
The HP ZBook Power G11's defining feature is the power it offers – its graphical performance in particular. You also get plenty of connectivity options and optional add-ons – all fitted into a larger chassis that is reasonably weighted and sized. You may not need to carry this mobile workstation around with you every day, but it's about as portable as you can get for a larger machine – giving you the option should you wish to exercise it. Not least of all thanks to a great battery life. We were disappointed, however, with its display – given you're likely investing in it for its graphics performance (meaning you are inclined to work more with visuals), you would have to plug this machine into an external display to really get the most out of it.

NVIDIA NVIDIA RTX 3000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU: A higher-end professional graphics card for use in laptops that sports 4,608 CUDA cores and 8 GB of ECC GDDR6 VRAM. It would be fair to say that this is a GeForce RTX 4070 (Laptop) in disguise. Brought into existence in 2023, the RTX 3000 leverages TSMC's 5 nm process and Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architecture to achieve very decent performance combined with moderate power consumption. This graphics card is fast enough to run many games at 1440p with quality set to High. The Nvidia-recommended TGP range is very wide at 35 W to 140 W leading to bizarre performance differences between different systems powered by what is supposed to be the same graphics card.

These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

Ultra 9 185H: The top-of-the-line Meteor Lake chip that debuted in December 2023. This 1st Gen Core Ultra processor has come to replace 13th generation Core chips; it has 16 cores (6 + 8 + 2) and 22 threads at its disposal. Its Performance cores, of which there are 6, run at up to 5.1 GHz while its Efficient cores, of which there are 10 (8 main cores plus 2 extra ones found in the Low Power Island) run at up to 3.8 GHz. The 8-core Arc GPU, just out of the oven, serves as the integrated graphics adapter - this runs at up to 2.35 GHz - and there is a bevy of other brand-new technologies on offer as well such as the integrated AI Boost NPU with two Gen 3 engines for hardware AI workload acceleration. vPro Enterprise and business-centric features such as the Remote Platform Erase are onboard as well. This laptop processors's "base" power consumption is 45 W, while its Turbo power consumption is not supposed to go over 115 W.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

16.00":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.

In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.

80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
