If you don’t mind the weight and thickness, the HyperX Omen 15 could be a good option if you’re looking for a machine that tackles gaming at home, but can still hold up on the move. Its performance is solid and sustains well without intolerable fan noise. It even has the efficiency to run for a good stretch if you’re away from a power outlet.

If not for the polling rate issue, I think this would be an easy Editor's Choice. As it stands, I'm going to give it our Recommended award, because Joe Gamer isn't going to want to have to troubleshoot issues like this. There's also the 8GB of video RAM to contend with, although that's not HP's fault.
