(December 13, 2021 update: We incorrectly stated that the AMD model comes with Thunderbolt 4. Only the Intel version of the Omen 16 comes with Thunderbolt 4 compatibility. The original article remains below.)
HP is currently running a sale on its 16.1-inch Omen gaming laptop for just over $1300 USD after applying the coupon code 'WINTER10' at checkout. This specific configuration is notable for its high-end specifications relative to the final price as users are getting an octa-core Ryzen 7 5800H CPU, 16.1-inch 144 Hz IPS display, and GeForce RTX 3070 GPU.
Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of the Omen 16 is its display which is in between the more typical 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch options. The metal base is easy to service if required and both Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 are supported unlike on many other Ryzen-based laptops. However, the system can be a bit loud even for a gaming laptop while the clickpad can sometimes be unresponsive based on our time with a test unit.
