HP briefly lists unannounced AMD Ryzen 7 5825U, Ryzen 5 5625U and Ryzen 3 5425U laptop APUs
The three leaked models appear to be part of the Barcelo family that is launching in early 2022. Barcelo is believed to be only Cezanne refresh that is still produced on the 7 nm nodes and features the same 15 W TDP, along with the same core counts, L3 cache memory and Vega iGPUs from the current Cezanne models.
Twitter user momomo_us recently spotted three unannounced AMD laptop processors listed by HP. Apparently, these are part of the rumored Barcelo-U family meant to be a refresh for Cezanne. If the upcoming Barcel models retain the Ryzen 7 5825U, Ryzen 5 5625U, Ryzen 3 5425U names listed by HP (already removed), we will soon have Zen 2 (Lucienne), Zen 3 (Cezanne) and Zen 3 refresh models as part of the same 5000-U series.
According to Tom’s Hardware, the new Barcelo models will still be 15 W TDP processors with the same amount of cores and L3 cache as the Cezanne models. This means that the Ryzen 7 5825U will feature 8 cores / 16 threads with 16 MB of L3, while the Ryzen 5 5625U will feature 6 cores / 12 threads with 16 MB L3, and the Ryzen 3 5425 will come with 4 cores and 8 threads plus 8 MB of L3. Looking at the latest leaked roadmap, we see Barcelo is also produced on the 7 nm nodes, so performance improvements might not be significant. We can at least expect improved Vega iGPU speeds and possibly higher base / boost clocks for the processor cores.
Seeing that HP already leaked the naming scheme and corroborating everything with previous roadmaps, the Barcelo models could debut at CES in January, with general availability scheduled for Q1 2022.
