Garmin has released beta version 12.59 for the Venu X1 smartwatch. This is the second beta update for the wearable, which was released in June 2025. It follows the beta version 12.50 update, which added the Evening Report feature, a weekly running tolerance estimate and track run daily suggested workouts.
Beta version 12.59 brings two new features to the Venu X1. The first is a new automatic rest timer for the Strength activity. The second is the addition of the Tips app; already available on models like the Fenix 8 and the Forerunner 970, this app can give you interactive pointers on how to make the most of your watch’s features.
Alongside these new features, Garmin says it has improved the AutoShot detection function used during a Golf activity. Plus, it has resolved a problem where the lock screen icon did not appear when users tried to save a Swim activity. There are said to be other minor bug fixes and improvements which are not detailed in the release notes (below).
You can now download beta version 12.59 by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. It remains to be seen when a stable version of the 12.xx software will reach all users of the Garmin Venu X1 smartwatch (curr. $799.99 at Amazon).
