Garmin has released a spate of beta updates for its Forerunner portfolio this week after a period of absence. To recap, the company started the week by delivering Beta Version 24.10 for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 (curr. $599 on Amazon). Shortly afterwards, the company then issued its first beta updates for the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 with almost 30 changes and improvements.
Now, Garmin has returned to its older Forerunner smartwatches with Beta Version 24.11, which should be available as an automatic over-the-air (OTA) update. If that is not the case for whatever reason, then you can manually request the update by navigating through the Main menu, Settings, System and Software Update on your smartwatch before tapping Check For Updates.
Given how quickly Garmin has turned around Beta Versions 24.10 and 24.11, it should come as no surprise to learn that the latter contains fewer changes than the former. Nonetheless, the new update is said to resolve a few key outstanding bugs, including one that caused touch inputs to remain active when a smartwatch is in sleep mode. Please see the changelogs below and Garmin's forum pages for more information.
