The Garmin Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, and Instinct E smartwatches are receiving a new beta update. Version 10.19 is now available OTA and arrives a week after the version 10.18 release, which addressed problems with the flashlight and the Backcountry Skiing and Jump Rope activities.
The release notes for beta version 10.19 list four new bug fixes. Firstly, Garmin has removed GameOn Broadcast and SpeedPro settings for unsupported activities. The former is linked to the Gaming activity, with the Garmin GameOn app allowing users to view performance metrics in real time. The latter is linked solely to the Windsurfing activity, providing users with advanced speed metrics.
Garmin has also tackled issues where inReach devices could not be paired to these smartwatches, as well as bugs related to heart rate (HR) zones. The fourth bug fix is only for the Instinct 3 AMOLED and Instinct 3 Solar smartwatch users, who had reported problems with the Golf Autoshot feature.
A Garmin representative confirmed in a post on the brand’s forum that software v10.19 had already rolled out to 20% of users. The update will be installed automatically on eligible smartwatches when they are connected to the Garmin Connect Mobile app or Garmin Express. It is unclear when this beta update will reach all users of the Instinct 3 and Instinct E smartwatches (curr. $299.99 at Amazon).
