Garmin has delivered a rather unusual update to the Enduro 2, Epix 2 and the Fenix 7 (curr. $529 on Amazon) after issuing v23.06 to beta testers a few days ago. For context, this week's beta followed Beta Version 23.05, which introduced a dozen new features, bug fixes and associated improvements to the same smartwatches.
By contrast, Beta Version 23.06 officially only brought two bug fixes over its predecessor. With that being said, it seemed that Garmin may have quietly rolled out device passcode support starting with v23.05. Please see Garmin's dedicated support page to learn more about how device passcode functionality works.
Initially, Beta Version 23.06 was only available to beta testers who manually requested the update. Now though, any Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7 or associated smartwatch owners who have enrolled on the Garmin Beta Program should soon receive an automatic notification to download the same update as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
Surprisingly, the OTA version of Beta Version 23.06 contains different changes from the version Garmin started distributing earlier this week. In fact, neither of the changes have been carried over. Instead, Beta Version 23.06 is now said to contain four changes, including one that caused audio prompts to revert to English after power cycling a smartwatch. The full changelog is as follows:
- Fixed audio prompts reverting to English after power cycle.
- Fixed nautical display units on activity summary.
- Fixed possible crash when moving golf pin position.
- Improvements to golf club sensor menu.
