Garmin has released another update to Fenix 7 beta testers. Also available across smartwatches like the Enduro 2 and Tactix 7 (curr. $1,084 on Amazon), the new update follows directly on from Beta Version 21.06 that arrived less than a fortnight ago.
Nonetheless, Garmin has found other half-a-dozen areas of improvement that it is distributing under the banner of Beta Version 21.09. On the one hand, the company claims to have refined its breathing variations page with several undisclosed changes. Similarly, Garmin reports that Beta Version 21.09 also improves the Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro's sensor connection menus in undefined ways.
On the other hand, Beta Version 21.09 features four bug fixes, too. For example, a crash should no longer occur when powering down the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro or associated smartwatches. Also, Garmin states that it has resolved a lag that could occur on CIQ watch faces during screen transitions. Garmin has not confirmed when a new stable update will be ready yet, though. With that in mind, ECG functionality remains disabled on this beta build. The full Beta Version 21.09 changelog is as follows:
- Improvements and fixes to the breathing variations page.
- Fixed CIQ watch face lag during screen transitions.
- Fixed crash on device power down.
- Fixed crash during activities with audio prompts.
- Fixed Golf activity not showing yardage to hazards in tournament mode.
- Improvements to sensor connection menus.
