Free game: Epic Games is giving away a popular action RPG this week
This week for free in the Epic Games Store: the action RPG Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Developed by Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix, the game was released in August 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as a direct successor to Deus Ex: Human Revolution on the market. It is the fourth main title in the Deus Ex series. On Steam the game has a good average rating of 76 percent with over 28,000 reviews.
Mankind Divided combines first-person shooter and RPG elements with stealth gameplay, offering players plenty of variety. As with all parts of the series, however, the storyline is the main focus. The story of Mankind Divided takes place in 2029, two years after the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Players are transported to a dystopian future in which humans live together with cybernetically altered people, also known as the augmented. After the "Aug Incident", which caused millions of augmented humans to lose control of themselves and become violent, humans have become hostile towards them.
Players once again take on the role of Adam Jensen, a former security chief whose body has also been altered through cybernetic augmentation, giving him superhuman strength, special hacking abilities and enhanced sensory perception. Jensen now works for a special Interpol unit called Task Force 29, trying to uncover the global conspiracy behind the Aug incident.
The game world is diverse and offers players the opportunity to achieve their goals in different ways - be it through combat, stealth, hacking or social interactions. Through their decisions, players can directly influence the course of the story.
Prices are subject to change. The offer was available at the time of publication of the article, but may be limited in time or quantity.
