System Shock Remake release date confirmed for consoles
System Shock Remake, a reiterated version of the popular 1994 action-adventure game, was released for PC in March last year. Around that time, Nightdive Studios, the developer of the 2023 remake, had hinted towards a release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Now, almost a year later, the System Shock Remake is all set to release on PS4, PS5, and Xbox consoles soon. Nightdive Studios made this announcement via a trailer, which is available on its official YouTube channel. As per the trailer, the System Shock Remake will be rolled out for the consoles on May 21st, which is a few weeks away.
For those who aren’t caught up, System Shock is a popular single-player action-adventure game that was remade by Nightdive Studios. The 2023 title is said to be a faithful remake of the original game. In the game, players assume the role of an anonymous security hacker whose mission is to take down an evil AI entity named Shodan.
At the time of writing, there is no information available whether the game will be available in physical copies or it’d be a digital-only purchase. Further, the developer also hasn’t made it clear if the System Shock would be rolled out for Mac and Linux.
Currently, System Shock is available for PC, Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally (curr. $899 on Amazon), and Lenovo Legion Go.
