FlexMirror OLED Portable Monitor now funding on Kickstarter
The FlexMirror OLED Portable Monitor is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. You can connect to the gadget wirelessly without a transmitter or downloading an app. The professional grade 13.3-in FHD OLED display is manufactured by Samsung and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The 10-point touchscreen has up to 390 nits brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and a 700,000:1 contrast ratio.
SAMT, the company behind the device, claims that FlexMirror is the only genuinely wireless portable monitor with this type of display. With support for Samsung DeX screen mirroring, you can wirelessly connect the gadget to a Samsung smartphone or tablet. You can use Miracast to connect wirelessly to various products running on Android and Windows operating systems. Alternatively, you can connect via the accompanying USB-C to USB-C cable to a Nintendo Switch, iPhone, MacBook or iPad. You can also connect to other gadgets, like a DSLR camera using an HDMI to USB-C cable.
The FlexMirror is only 0.26-in (~6.7 mm) thick and weighs 1.3 lbs (~595 g), making it easy to transport. An integrated 7,000 mAh battery powers the device for up to six hours on a single charge, and built-in stereo quad speakers provide a 4 W output. The lowest pledge level currently for the FlexMirror OLED Portable Monitor is US$359, a 42% discount off the US$600 MSRP. The gadget is due to be delivered in July, with the company shipping from the Republic of Korea to the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Germany.
