The numbers of existing iPhones, Watches and accessories in Apple's physical Stores are reportedly shrinking now that the OEM has officially set a date for its next-gen hardware launch. In the case of the benighted FineWoven line, however, the low stocking is thought to indicate discontinuation rather than renewal with updated models.

FineWoven came unravelled as an alternative to Apple's leather iPhone cases with remarkable speed following its 2023 launch. Despite its hype as a high-end accessory material with a better look and feel compared to its traditional forebears, its critics have often disagreed on both points.

Furthermore, FineWoven has encountered reports of potentially advanced deterioration and discoloration among early adopters. Now, the cases (and Watch bands) based on the material are reportedly disappearing from Apple Store shelves, and not because people are buying them.

The Cupertino giant's products might be expected to decline in stock ahead of an event such as the upcoming September 2024 Glowtime presentation - however, in the case of FineWoven products, there are even stronger suspicions than before that they are not coming back to complement the iPhone 16 line-up.

In either case, there are arguably more interesting accessories based on supposedly sustainable vegan materials out there, such as this MagSafe-capable Otterbox Symmetry Series Cactus Leather case for the 15 Pro Max from Amazon.
