Reviews for the Dell XPS 13-9365 2-in-1
Finally, a 2-in-1 InfinityEdge. Dell has successfully translated its award-winning XPS 13 notebook into a convertible with many of its original features intact including the design and display. Users will have to sacrifice some performance and features along the way when compared to the latest Ultrabooks.

Archive.org versionOverall, I am left feeling pretty conflicted and confused about the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. I've always admired the standard XPS 13 as a high bar for great PC notebooks, and I have become a fan of 360-degree hinges through the Lenovo Yoga series.

Archive.org versionDell’s XPS 13 notebook is easily one of the best 13-inch notebooks available now. It has a wonderful display, it is supremely compact and portable, and it offered decent performance and battery life. There is really very little not to like about the XPS 13.

Archive.org versionSo, if you want an attractively styled, nicely slim 2-in-1 computer with a good pen (albeit as an option) for general use, go have a close look at the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1.

Archive.org versionThe standard XPS laptop is already an impressive package and Dell has managed to add 2-in-1 functionality without sacrificing any of its attractions. There are some minor annoyances but really the only thing that lets it down is the high price, still if you want a premium product...

Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 13 was already excellent, and it’s a smart move from Dell to release this hybrid edition without compromising the design and functionality of the original vision. The XPS 13 2-in-1 is an ultrabook that will likely fit in to any home or work environment better than many other laptops out there. The thin bezels, excellent keyboard and thoughtful design are marred only by a high asking price.

Archive.org versionThe XPS 13 2-in-1 scores very well in the usability and portability stakes, but less well when it comes to value or pure performance.

Archive.org versionTo say that Dell has smashed it out of the park with the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 Review is an understatement. The XPS 13 was already a winner, but the latest version now has incredible battery life and is fully convertible, making it one of the most desirable ultraportables on the market. Bennett Ring.

Archive.org versionThis review started with a primer about how the XPS 13 2-in-1 avoids some of the annoying parts of today’s trendiest laptops. The keyboard isn’t too shallow, the screen not too small and there’s a memory card slot, even if it is a tiny microSD one.

Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is a laptop you'll enjoy using, but probably won't like to pay for (in the UK at least). It's very slim and light, avoiding using one of those annoyingly shallow keyboards, which makes day-to-day use ideal. Its 360-degree hinge design is far subtler than most too, in particular the bling watchband hinge of the Lenovo Yoga.

Archive.org versionThere’s a lot to like about this and I’m really impressed with the specs, performance and the looks of the XPS 13-inch 2 in 1. The review unit is the top of the line i7 with 16GB of RAM and the larger SSD so unsurprisingly there wasn’t any performance issues. For the average user though, the i5 with 8GB is going to fulfil your needs with grunt to spare and save you a significant chunk of coin in the process.

Archive.org versionValue is the only major issue, though, and in this growing crowd of ultra-slim, low-connectivity laptops, the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is probably the model we'd choose if we could pick any of today's selection. It's incredibly portable but is still a joy to work on, thanks to its high-quality keyboard and trackpad.

Archive.org versionIt's so close that I'm going to put it this way: I have a longstanding preference for light laptops. The lighter the better (as long as the functionality isn't compromised too much). In this respect, I favor the MacBook. As I said, there's a big difference between 2.7 pounds (XPS) and 2 pounds (MacBook). That said, the XPS' faster performance, touch display, 360-degree hinge, carbon fiber palm rest, fingerprint scanner, and MicroSD card reader may appeal more to certain consumers and businesses.

Archive.org versionSo the choice is simple really. The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is slower, features less battery life, has a worse collection of I/O, and its best area – its design – isn't that much better than the Spectre. And this is all in a package that’s more expensive. Sorry Dell, but in such a competitive market, that’s just not going to cut it.

Archive.org versionThe XPS 13 2-in-1 is a beautifully built machine, but better rivals mean it isn't a sensible choice. Expensive and slightly flawed, the XPS 13 2-in-1 is a rare miss from Dell.

Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is a compact and versatile convertible laptop with a great screen and solid build quality. The use of an Intel Y-series processor should not put mainstream buyers off, and battery life is good enough to get most people through a working day. The repositioned webcam is welcome too. The only downside is a relative paucity of (USB-C-only) connectors.

Archive.org versionUsing the XPS 13 2-in-1 as a tablet is a bit odd at first, though. The slate is pretty wide in portrait mode, which makes holding it feel a bit uncomfortable when you’re not resting it on your lap or a table. I did, however, like flipping the display over and using the keyboard as a stand to watch movies while making dinner.

Archive.org versionDell still has an excellent laptop line with the XPS models, but the XPS 13 2-in-1 doesn’t make it shine any brighter than it already does.

Archive.org versionAnd let's just come out and tell it like it is - if you were considering a 12-inch MacBook, the Dell XPS 13 2-In-1 is a better option in just about every measurable way. Or, if you're considering the current 13-inch MacBook Air, Dell's standard XPS 13, now with Kaby Lake, eats it for lunch. That may be just our not completely humble opinion, but that's what we do here, offer opinions. It's refreshing to see Windows 10 device OEMs like Dell leading the charge and the XPS 13 2-In-1 is on point.
